The module has an onboard RS232 serial interface and can be connected directly to any host PC system via a COM port for control or image communication. NTSC or PAL video output is also available. The C429-RS232 is compact (38mm x 38mm x 25mm) with a built-in 60-degree lens.
A simple serial protocol command instructs the camera to send 640×480 images for viewing or storage. The serial transfer rate is 115. 2Kbps for transmitting color or monochrome images at VGA (640×480), QVGA (320 x 240) or QQVGA (160×120) resolution.
