TRICONEX is a manufacturer of safety instrument systems, founded in 1983 and headquartered in California, Irvine, USA. It is a subsidiary of Invensys Group (80 offices and 42 technical service centers) and has a global sales and service network. The company specializes in manufacturing safety instrument systems such as Tricon safety instrument systems and ESD systems.
The Tricon module consists of electronic components installed inside a metal frame and can be replaced on site. When the module is removed from the rack, it does not expose any parts or circuits. The connectors on the printed circuit board prevent modules from being inserted upside down, and the “keys” on each module prevent them from being inserted into the wrong slot.
Tricon supports digital and analog input and output points, as well as thermocouple inputs and various communication capabilities.
The Tricon system comes in three types of racks: main rack, expansion rack, and remote rack. A Tricon system can contain up to fifteen racks to accommodate appropriate combinations of various installed input, output, and hot plug backup modules, as well as communication modules
