Description
GE DS3800HMPK axis displacement preprocessor module
Product description
The GE microprocessor board DS3800HMPK is designed for quick installation in a drive. The board has a modular connector at one end and a fixed rod at the other end. The GE microprocessor board DS1HMPK also has 3,800 red LED indicators and three amber leds, which are visible from the front of the board. The board also houses a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module, and a 1-pin connector. It also has 34 2-pin connectors.
A microprocessor is a heat-generating component. It is adjacent to two 50-pin connectors, which are connected to the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable blocks airflow to cool the microprocessor. Overheating can damage the microprocessor or reduce its reliability. If the heat rises above the threshold, it can even cause the drive to shut down. To prevent this from happening, install the driver in a place with fresh air at room temperature. Avoid installing the drive in a room full of other drives and devices. Drives and devices generate heat, and if not properly managed, they can allow heat to build up.
Install a fan to dissipate heat. Powerful fans should be mounted on the wall to prevent clutter on the floor. Make sure they are in good condition and installed enough to allow air circulation throughout the room. If a more robust solution is needed, a ventilation hood can be installed on the device. They expel heat and dust from the room. Another solution is to remove some heating equipment from the room.
