Description
ABB LDMUI-01 programmed integrated circuit board
The module uses Xilinx Virtex-5 SXT FPGA which focuses on DSP. These FPgas contain optimized DSP modules that simplify operations such as fast Fourier transform (FFT), custom filtering, modulation and demodulation, and other signal processing functions. Unlike other user programmable FPGA instruments, engineers can program the NI FlexRIO FPGA using the LabVIEW Graphics System design software and the LabVIEW FPGA module.
This approach helps engineers locate their applications to FPgas without knowledge of VHDL, while also providing an interface to import native VHDL code directly into LabVIEW FPgas. The NI PXIe-796xR FPGA module integrates a new NI-STC3 application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), which facilitates point-to-point streaming and significantly improves the throughput of test and measurement systems.
