Description
The Network Automation Engine (NAE) and the Network Integration Engine (NIE) are network-based, Ethernet-based monitoring devices for monitoring and controlling the network of field-level building automation equipment, HVAC equipment, and lighting. Figure 1 shows a typical NAE55 model.
This document describes how to install MS-NAE55xx-x and MS-NIE55xx-x engines, which are referred to as NAE55 unless otherwise specified.
Install
When installing NAE55, observe the following principles:
• NAE55 is transported in original containers to reduce vibration and impact damage to NAE55.
• Confirm all components shipped with NAE55.
The data protection batteries ship with the NAE55 but are packaged separately.
• Do not drop NAE55 or be physically impacted.
• Do not open the NAE55 housing (except for the data protection battery compartment). There are no user repairable components inside the NAE55. Part includes
•1 NAE55
• A data protection battery
• A copy of installation instructions. Materials and special tools required
• Four fasteners suitable for the mounting surface (M4 screw – Europe, #8 screw – North America)
• Two 36 cm (14 in) or longer DIN rail plates for DIN rail mounting applications only
• Small straight blade screwdriver used to secure the communication wires in the terminal block
